At its January meeting the Parish Council was required to set the budget for 2021/22. The revenue expenditure budget (excluding any capital projects such as the Play Area, pond refurbishment etc) was agreed as £31,115 with £9,750 being able to be met from reserves meaning that, after allowing for allotment rents and interest income, the amount required to be raised via Council Tax was set at £21,270. The expenditure budget actually represents only a £215 (0.6%) increase against the 2020/21 Budget when the Council budgeted to use approx. £17500 of reserves and hence was able to keep the Council Tax charge increase in that year down to 5% after many years of no increase at all due to the use of reserves to cover part of the annual expenditure.

The agreed Budget can be found here: http://www.stadhampton.org/community/stadhampton-parish-council-15080/transparency-information-202122/

This year’s increase in Council Tax, whilst large in percentage terms, represents an increase of 23p per week for a house paying Band D Council Tax.

In addition to this the Council is carrying out the various projects mentioned in last month’s report and has just secured grant funding from Cllr Newton (SODC) in order to install a community defibrillator in Chiselhampton to complement the existing one located in Stadhampton

The Council welcomes public participation in the Open Forum before each formal Council Meeting when your views can be made to councillors; alternatively you can contact us using the contact details below.
